Pasarón de la Vera (Cáceres) will host for seven days (from 1 to 7 September) the Erasmus + Let's cook our heritage project, organised by the European Cultural Itinerary Cooperation Network of the Routes of Emperor Charles V, which aims to promote the exchange of young people - a total of 21, from Italy, Bulgaria, Latvia, Slovakia, Cyprus and Spain, chosen according to their social skills, interests in the subject and their ability to speak English - and the development of their personal and professional growth with traditional and professional gastronomy.
Among other objectives, the Erasmus + Let's cook our heritage project aims to foster among those young people skills such as entrepreneurship, creativity, problem solving, empathy and tolerance, developing the personal and professional growth of youth workers related to traditional and professional gastronomy.
In addition, this project also aims to highlight the culture, heritage and legacy that Europe possesses through its gastronomic culture, as well as to promote multiculturalism, knowledge and respect for different European traditions and cultures; to foster entrepreneurship and economic opportunities through culture and heritage; to motivate young workers to activate participation in cultural events; and to promote more sustainable tourism through culture and gastronomy.
The Erasmus + Let's cook our heritage project involves Youthfully Yours SK from Slovakia; Atrium from Italy; Sia "Hotel School" Viesnicubiznesakoledza from Latvia; TiMozhesh Li from Bulgaria; and Cyprus Food and Nutrition Museum from Cyprus.
Finally, it should be noted that the Let's cook our heritage project has the collaboration of the Pasarón Town Council, ADICOVER, the Directorate General of Tourism of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Alimentos de Extremadura, the Cáceres Provincial Council, REDEX, Restaurantes Fogones imperiales, and IK.
